Communications during COVID-19: Emailing your team isn’t always the best way to communicate

A human resources magazine, Human Resources Director (HRD), recently released an article on the most effective COVID-19 communications, reporting that interactive messages via messaging apps such as Slack, Teams or WhatsApp have a 72 – 88% effective response rate over e-mails. It was found that e-mails have only a 15% open rate and less than 2% response rate.

Back in July 2021, the Department of Home affairs Back in July 2021, the Department of Home affairs and the @ausborderforce gave certain relaxations of work rights for Student Visa 500 holders due to workforce shortages, but only for a limited number of sectors. Later in the year, they relaxed this to all sectors up until April 2022. 
 
The update has now once again been extended "until further notice".
 
So, what does the relax mean? 
 
Overall it means that businesses may have access to more students than previously thought. 
 
➡ It is a relax to working condition 8104 - Temporary relaxation of working hours.
➡ It applies to all ongoing students, as week as new arrivals and secondary applicants (aka dependants).
➡ It allows Students and their dependants to work before their course of study commences. 
➡ It allows Students and their dependants to work more than 40 hours a fortnight in any sector of the economy.
 
It is still a temporary measure, until further notice, so it is important to keep an eye on Immi website for any updates.
