Our client, a privately owned boutique style commodity trading company with a strong background based in Brisbane CBD, is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join their team as a Senior Administrator.

This is an exciting step up for a highly proficient administration assistant looking for the next step in their career. This role will work closely with the Steel Traders daily, making sure all the logistics of the trade goes smoothly for all parties involved. As a Senior Administrator you will provide vital support to the company’s seamless day-to-day operations.

About the role:

This job opportunity offers a competitive salary package and a great central location in Brisbane City. The team is described as fun and dynamic, making for a great work environment. The position is a great full-time opportunity and offers stable hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm in a comfortable office environment. Job specific training will be provided, ensuring that the successful candidate has the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their role.

Responsibilities and duties of the role will include:

  • Taking ownership and ensuring efficient and effective contract creation, administration and reporting.
  • Assisting the management team in overseeing the entire contract flow from order placement to closure.
  • Keeping across the process and stages of each project and being relied upon by the team to use your well developed organisational skills to give the traders confidence that you have the projects in hand.
  • Ensuring all contract documentation is generated and maintained to a high standard.

Essential competencies for this position include:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Excel and Database system.
  • Ability to research and analyse data effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to think outside the box and multitask.

Ideal but not essential:

  • Previous experience in a similar role in the logistics and steel industry.
  • Customer and relationship management.
  • Experience using MYOB Advanced.
