Medical Receptionist (Full Time)
Location Birtinya, Sunshine Coast QLD

Our client is an established Plastic Surgery single-surgeon practice developing a progressive new clinic on the Sunshine Coast, Qld.

Currently seeking a full time Medical Receptionist to join their team immediately. Full time hours however we will consider possibly less hours for the right candidate. The new receptionist will work alongside other reception staff, ensuring that they bring their caring patient nature to our busy Private Specialist Medical clinic.

The role will see you:

  • Work closely with the team to deliver excellent patient care
  • Be a first point of contact to patients, representing the practice brand
  • Use your administrative skills and exceptional phone manner to work through each day’s changing demands

What you’ll do:

  • Manage patient phone and email inquiries, assist with patient billing and receipting, scanning, and filing (as required).
  • Booking/rescheduling patient appointments
  • End-of-day reconciliation and banking.
  • Liaise with with patients, providers, hospital staff, health funds and other  referrers.
  • Process patient theatre accounts, including Medicare, DVA, and health funds.
  • Provide administrative support to medical practitioners and clinical team members within the practice.
  • Assist with patient lists and other administrative duties under the Practice Manager.
  • Function in a highly organised and time efficient manner at all times.
  • Demonstrate outstanding people skills with the ability to relate well to patients, health care professionals and team relations.

About you:

  • You have a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a medical receptionist within a specialist medical practice (or similar) – (surgical practice will be highly regarded)
  • You are a great communicator with an enthusiastic positive attitude and exceptional customer service skills
  • You are very organised, diligent and are calm under pressure.
  • You are adaptable, flexible and have a strong ability to work autonomously
  • You are confident using computers –  with good experience using medical administration software. (Previous use with Xestro will be an advantage.)

Highly regarded 
Previous experience in cosmetic and plastic surgery and Theatre accounts will be highly regarded but most importantly will be your positive attitude and high energy.
