Our client is a rapidly growing multi-site ophthalmology clinic on the Sunshine Coast. They are market leaders in their space and use the latest diagnostic technology and advanced lenses to deliver the best possible outcomes for their patients.
Our client is seeking a Medical Administrator Temp to join the team immediately.
This role will be working across 4 days a week, maximum casual 30 hours per week.
You will be part of a team that take pride in their performance, valuing honesty, hard work, ethics and integrity, with patient safety and excellent outcomes always at its heart of everything they do. You will need to be a team player.
In this role you will:
- Primarily carry out administrative and clerical responsibilities including but not limited to patient and surgical scheduling and bookings.
- The billing of all consults and procedures.
- Manage medical fund claims and payments, including Medicare, DVA, health funds and all aspects of private billing, including deposits, refunds, credits and final payments for all clinical services.
- Coordinate with anaesthetists and hospital theatre administrators to schedule surgeries according to their availability.
- Provide administrative support to medical practitioners and team members within the practice as required.
- Work in other locations as required.
- Work closely with the team to deliver excellent patient care.
- Liaise with multiple stakeholders (internal and external) from a range of disciplines to ensure a clear and consistent patient journey.
- Maintain precise and timely patient information in a cloud-based management system-Gentu.
- Demonstrate outstanding people skills with the ability to relate well to patients, health care professionals and team relations.

What you will need:
- Experience in a Specialist Medical Practice
- Current experience of GENTU/Genie or other Practice management software desirable.
- Basic accounting skills.
- Knowledge of Medicare benefit schedule (MBS) and Eclipse is desirable.
- You are a great communicator with an enthusiastic positive attitude and exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to always function in a highly organised and time efficient manner.
- You are adaptable, flexible, with a brilliant work ethic.
- You are confident using computers and savvy in learning new systems and processes.
